Love ReDefined...!!!!

Just came across this interesting poster which really redefines the Gen-Y concept of Love-

Surely if can just send 5 SMS per day in this age of being used to some 100 free SMS per day and all those 5 SMS are saved for only that person, you have al lreasons to believe that you are one of the most sought after persons in their life..

But according to me, if any person would define LOVE seriously just this way, I think there is a lot lot more to Love that he /she needs to know about.... The number of hours you talk or the number of SMS you share is in NO way a parameter to judge the feelings what you have for the person because LOVE has existed long before the SMS was even invented...!!!  Ain't it????

FaceBook IN, Orkut OUT...???

I still remember the day when I was asked by my cousin "Are you on Orkut..??" and I was like, "Orkut..??? What is that..??" Yeah I dont mind to admit that I was at that time really dumb about these things.. specially to this whole world of Internet and social networking. That was about some four years back... I did not even have an email ID before that. The reason for it was mainly ignorance.. I did not know that outside my world there is so much more to explore and I never even felt the need for such a medium of communication....

Then after my junior college I began to know things about Internet and orkutting and mailing etc. etc.. It was an awesome period discovering new things and finding I was finding it amazing... The whole concept of social networking fascinated me.

"Orkut" was the first social networking site I joined. I loved to create profile, fill in all the details and the DP... that is the best part about it.... I always upload cute pictures of cats, animals, babies, sometimes sayings or quotes on my profile. I loved to change them frequently.. Once in a while I upload my own pic for a few days... I always like to hear from my friends by means of scrap about how they were and what they were doing. Then there are testimonials.. I still find it the best feature of Orkut and I really love personalised testimonials, both- to write and receive.... Scrapping ,chatting, changing status messages, adding videos, discussions in forums.....I never knew when I became so much a part of this world which I dint even know once upon a time...

Then with time, I even created a profile on FaceBook but I never accessed it.. It was mainly because I did not understand the interface only. I always liked and preferred Orkut to FB... I somehow felt that FB had too much of stuff on one page.. the small font, the page divisions , the friend suggestion (I still don't understand how this feature works.. :P It suggests anyone and everyone as friends...!!) I just created a profile for kind of namesake. But since the past few months, I realise that my activity on FaceBoook has increased a lot. I log in frequently out there, check out the updates, comment on some status messages, Like links, share videos, play games, take up answering to quizzes and all such stuff which you know about more than me I guess... ;) But spare me since I am not a Mafia war player or owner of any farm or aquarium there.. ;) :P

Though I use both these sites, I have found that there has been a shift from Orkut to Facebook with regards to many of my friends and now that they are updating statuses all the time, they even have started hating Orkut and criticizing it.... I did not understand this. People there talk about Dumping Orkut and commenting about it. I came across many pages which had names like "Death of Orkut." " Orkut is for Oldies..." etc etc... and these pages had huge fan following... The trend has become like "Facebook In, Orkut out...!!!" I don't understand why people who were on Orkut full time till recently can change their opinion so quickly.I have also started finding facebook as a better option for networking but I have never disliked Orkut and I am sure I never will because it is the first social networking site I joined. It was like a window that helped me to have a look at the whole virtual world.

In the end, Orkut or Facebook does not really make a difference for me as long as I enjoy the time I spend there. Its just that sometimes when people change their opinion so suddenly and so strongly, I wonder how long would they even enjoy FaceBook...??? That time won't be far when some other popular site might pop-up(or it has already...?????) where people would criticize FaceBook..!!!!

P.S.: Really been a long while I wrote something in My Corner... So how are you all and how is this new template??? I loved this one at the first instant when I came across it...!! :)

SmS...!!!!!

"The first thing I do in the morning is check my cell...."Its a group I have joined on FB... But isn't this a fact for the most of us..??

Just talking about yesterday-

I woke up in the morning. Checked my cell besides the pillow.

Nothing new.

Just rubbed my eyes and sent a message to a couple of friends-

"See outside the window...
Sun rising for U,
Flowers Smiling for U,
Birds Singing for U,
'Coz last nite I told them all to wish Good Morning to U...!!

GM :) "

I sent the message and after a while I got a reply-

"Koi fayda nahi yeh sab karke. ;)
Mujhe bahut neend aa rahi hai... Sone de mujhe. GNSD..."

GNSD..This was at 9.00 in the morning.... Great friends..!!

I replied-

"Ok..sleep well... GN.. :) :P"

Now this what I want to talk about today........ SMS....

I have developed this habit of hitting the reply button as soon as I read a message.... I don't know but how over the past few months I reply for most of the messages that I receive.. Even the forwards, just like the one above.

SMS conversations were so much a part of my routine till lately... But now I love this mode of communication I love all those messages in my inbox and I even like to reply for them - be it PJ's ( also includes CID PJ's) or Shayaris or thoughts or Quotes...

Also there are some messages where you have to choose some item from a list and then you are said what the list represents..I even like such messages.

Eg: Which symbol you will select,
For your life partner…
%
=
#
$
?
/
!
Answer will be sent after your reply….
Reply must.This is 100 % True.

Answer (sent after reply)

% Kanjus
= Best Couple
# Every day shopping
$ Non stop kisses
? Half minded
/ A soft touch with a smile
! Bold and smart

Now what connection it has with lifepartner cannot be expalined by even a huge thesis but it is definitely Fun...!!

And such mesages... The one which has figures made using all signs and symbols... They are all also really really cute....

Tring... Tring...

Yaad Dilane Aayi Hon.

Aapke sms Nahi Aa Rahy Hain!

Sms Karo Warna Ghanti Kharab Kar k Bhag Jaon Gi. :-) "

Now the SMS length.... OMG... just 160 words/SMS...
I really find its too short...Specially while chatting. I generally exceed the word limit for one message.. It runs up to 2-3 messages.

I wonder how some people chat in just a couple of words in a message... Just words such as 'k' 'yeah' 'hmm' 'no' '5in' and on, on and on....

My bro also has this habit of just replying in a word to msgs. I asked him once about it to which he replies, rather preaches to me-

"It's not about words.. Its understanding.... Feelings don't need words... Bhavnaon ko samjo.. :P :P"

I thought if there is so much understanding, what is the need to even send such really Short MessageS..!!!

Whenever I write an SMS to someone it is my habit to start wid Hie...Hello.... or atleast end with GM, GD, GE, GN, GNSD, TC etc and loads of smileys... I like to edit messages before sending them. But sometimes I get messages in the evening which have GM written at the end. That really annoys me. How can one not even edit or check that much before sending.

It was the height when one of my younger cousin(lets call him K) sent me an Independence day forward on Republic day.... He dint edit the last line to suit the day. I read and replied...

Me- "Hello..wake up..Today its Republic Day...Not Independence Day...!!"

K- "Ohh..I 4got to edit n chng..."

Me- "Hmmm.... But remember it 4m now..!!" :)

K- "No no teacher...If u say, I will write it in my book a 100 times in my book 'Today is REPUBLIC DAY' and show you....."

Me- "Hehe...naa naa..No need for it...I am not such a strict teacher..!! :P :P

TC... do well with ur exams...Go study nw..Byee..."

And even after saying Byee...we continued talking for some more time before we said the final Byeeee....

Now again this is peculiar about chatting... We continue talking even after saying Byee...cyaaa.... at least 3- 4 times..Ain't it....???

P.S. : I'm loving this SMS style chat. It is really at your convenience, short, sweet, cute and makes me smile.... :)

So what is ur ishhhtyle of SMS..............????

Will he Change..??

A very strange, not strange actually...well you decide for yourself..what did u feel after reading this....!!

What I am going to write about is true... I wrote this in drafts and dint publish it also for two days thinking if I should or should not.....but I think I must....!!

What happened was.......

I was just walking back home with my friend when on the way I saw a vendor with some beautiful small purses that were knit using threads of different colours. They were really beautiful..I just happened to keep staring at them even while walking along and exclaimed to my friend "Wow..they are so beautiful...!!!"

Before I could even ask him to accompany me to that corner to have a close look at them, he said. "Why are you all girls like this..?? You like succhhh things..???"

Hearing this, something about our conversation around an hour ago struck me - where I was talking to my friend about some Eye-Liner..!! Now I know talking about cosmetics and all sounds girly, but definitely it as not something too boringg... Even then he had interrupted us saying "What have you started talking about in the middle of the road..???"

Now this is not to bring about the differences of opinion that we have (those are going to stay forever) but about the thing that happened later on..

When he did not like the purses, I immediately fired to him- "See, you are going to like all these things one day for sure... when someone special comes in your life..!! I am sure when she will say you any such thing , you will find this the cutest and the sweetest thing in the whole world.." I really dont know how but at that point of time I was determined to convince him about the likings of girls in general and also wanted him to agree to this attitude of girls...

He declined this point and went ahead.

I was still determined and reasoned out further, "I am sure this day will come in your life once...If you want, mark my words and you will definitely remember me for this...!!"

Now he took this very very seriously and said "I am sure.. Nothing of this sort will happen.."

"Take it in writing... You will change...!!"

"Ohkk then..Lets do one thing.. Whats the time..???"

"12.32 p.m."

"Ohkk..i'll write a message now and I'll send you.. Save it and then lets see....."

As soon as he said this.. We reached a point on our way from where we had to go on different roads... So we bid good bye to each other n two minutes later, my cell beeped....

N the SMS read....

"26th Feb, 2010
12.32 p.m.
Uru ne aaj bola ki muzko bhi shopping and sab girly stuff achcha lagega jab mere lyf me koi aayegi...dekhte hai..!!"
(Uru said that I would start liking shopping and all such girly things, once there is someone special in my my life.. lets see how far this is true...!!).

I saved that message and he did the same too.. I wanted to remember this day and so I have even written about it..The point here, that he may change or no..I don't know. I think he would change his attitude with time.. even if he does not, this post will remind me of this very special and different conversation that I once had with this special friend... n yeah.. it has been quite some time he has been asking me to write about him on my blog... So this is the opportunity I take... Don't worry, I'll write other things about you too, soon ....!!

P.S. :- What do you think about this attitude of guys when they find some things so girlish and not even worth discussion.......?? I don't wanna sound as a feminist...just want to know your views... !!

They can change or no.. lets see.... :) :)

And yeah..HAPPY N COLOURFUL HOLI to you..!!

The Introduction..!!!

Fair skin, silky hair falling on his forehead, puppy brown eyes , a smile that could kill any girl… I just could not stop staring at him.. He was looking so, so handsome.

Just then he caught me looking at him. I smiled but he turned his face around. I was sad. I leafed through the magazine & started waiting for my turn again.

But after around five minutes I looked back in his direction. There was something in those eyes that I kept looking back at them and they caught me this time too.

And this happened every two minutes. He dint even return my smiles.

I wondered if I should go ahead. At last when I could not resist, I got up, went to his chair, offered my right hand and said, “Hello, I am Urvashi..!! What is your name??”

He reluctantly offered his hand, this time his lips did curve into a smile and he said “My name is Aarav. K. Rai. I study in Jr.Kg, St.George High School..!!”

Ohh.. He said the whole thing in one breath and it was really such a cute introduction…The one I would never forget..!!! :) :)

Some days ago, I was having a chat with a friend and happened to comment that boys never clean up their ward robes....

Over this he immediately said, "No gender bias...!!Its just that some of my things are not in place these days... Else otherwise I always have things on place...!!"

I immediately had to eat back my words....

I Realize that I should not be generalizing the facts for all guys....

Some days later, in the midst of some conversation.......

He Says "Girls are always confused...."

On hearing this the first thing that comes to my mind is

"No gender bias...." (But I don't say that because I gave it a thought n here is what I thought in the due course.....)

Girls are always confused

Is this a statement/fact...??

An exclamation..???!!!??

A question..??

I don't know....or to put it better 'I am confused'...!!!!

I have usually found that I get confused with many things.

In fact the more I think about a thing and analyse the situation or options, the more confused I am..

But is this always?? Yes, most of the times.... In the end, I have a clear understanding of whatever decision I make...!! Though my confusion leads to time delay while taking decisions, I find that I talk and discuss more about those things about which I am confused with my friends, family and arrive at a conclusion.. So when I give it time, I reach a pretty good conclusive decision.

But then routine things like going out...when...where..what to wear... what to eat... even such random questions confuse me a lot ........ I always find that I take time to decide on such things whereas some people are quite clear about such everyday issues ... Hmmmm.. So it seems that I have to sort out this and make a habit of deciding on things quickly.. It helps to save time as well as helps to focus and know about self choices clearly.....

And now the million dollar question........ Are just Girls always confused???

To this I agree and disagree too..... again I am sounding confused naa...???

I agree partially to it that girls are confuse but the source of confusion is thinking.... Girls sometimes think too much and confuse themselves when there is a simple, straight forward solution..... sometimes confusion is due to conflict of their own views with someone they look up to..Like in my case I am many a times confused when I have a particular view about a thing and my mom has an opposite view... I am then confused over which is right because I consider her thoughts as important too....

But these situations are faced by everyone at some or the other point of time in their life.. So, I don't think that only girls are the species subjected to it.May be they are more confused but again using the term ALWAYS for ALL GIRLS is not correct, Right...????

P.S. : Wrote this after I had a conversation with my friend Ganesh. Asked him to write about this but instead he asked me to do it and give credit to him for this... So here the credit for this post and all comments goes to you....

I wrote this after a long long time... feels good to be back .

Friends AAJ KAL...!!

I know the title sounds as if it is inspired from " LOVE AAJ KAL " . I could not think of anything better for this.. Hence, the name.. !!!

Gone are the days when you had your friends just from your school, your college or neighbourhood. The term 'friends' is now no longer restricted to the people you know face to face. With the advent of social networking sites, making friends online is the latest buzz around.

I still remember my school days when in our English letter writing we were given a topic to write a letter to pen friend in some other country describing about the Indian culture and the festivals celebrated here. At those times, these all situations seemed so vague to me that how could you be friends with someone whom you have not seen.?? But this is no more a vague thought for friends and friendship. With social networking sites coming up, we get an opportunity to meet new people from various places with whom we share common interests or occupations. It just helps us to connect with anyone in the world out there. I myself have many friends whom I have met and known over these sites over a time.

The other side of this virtual friendship is a not so sweet an experience though. There are people who create fake profiles and fake chat names with easy access to these sites. Many a times, young children also create profiles giving their wrong age and get into chatting with people whom they do not know. The fun may sometimes be too costly if there is no proper guidance or knowledge for the user. Online chatting can sometimes also lead to Depression and lack of social interaction.

Sometimes, I feel sometimes we need to add people in our friends list just because of obligation of knowing them. In reality we might not be so speaking much to them but then they are on our friends list.

In the end, the number of people you have in your friends list are in no way an indicator of the number of friends that you actually have. A friend is the one with one you can really share all your feelings, all your joys and sorrows. None of your online friends can replace them in your life. But with social networking you can surely say that somewhere in your life there is a thread which connects you with your friends in this busy world when we have less time to actually keep in touch with everyone around. Got to go now.. Have to scrap all my friends "HAPPY FRIENDSHIP DAY..." ;)
