What's in a NAME...????

Image
You all have come across the phrase "What's in a name..??" What does it mean to you..?? For me, my NAME means everything... It something so closely attached to me, so much a part of me that I don't even need to be conscious while saying my name.. And I am sure, it would be the same with everyone. We are all very possessive about our name. Even hearing someone calling out our name sounds so sweet at times, no matter how common the name may be and when we meet someone with the same name as ours, we immediately feel a sense of bonding with that person. We suddenly identify the same kind of problems with our names, the mistakes people make, the jokes played cracked and the most important...... the way they call you out..... It dint matter to me if someone called me by a different name or rather say different versions of my name... I don't have a problem when people call me with different names but then I don't like people who are not so familiar to me, calling

The COUNTDOWN Tag..!!

Hello All..I am here with a longggggggggg tag this time..!! I came across this on Anish's Blog some time ago and found that it had a lovely set of questions. Though it took a lot of time to answer them all, I am finally done with it and the Countdown Begins here...... Ten How’s: 1. How did you get one of your scars? I got one when a glass jug broke and a piece hurt me on my wrist when I was less than a year old. 2. How did you celebrate your last birthday? It was an awesome day. My cousins came over exactly at midnight. Then I attended a family function. Friends came home in the evening which was a surprise since we were just a few days away from our final exams…Loads of phone calls and wishes.. All in all..a memorable day. ..!! 3. How are you feeling at this moment? A little sleepy. Just had lunch. 4. How did your night go last night? Had a sound sleep. 5. How did you do in high school? Pretty Good..!! 6. Hiee all.. It has been some time that I have been away from "My Corner" and the reason for it is is I am busy at some other corner. This corner is my workplace . I am loving my new job a lot. Actually there are so many interesting things around that I can blog everyday about the new things I found but after coming back home I am so tired that I just check my updates, leave a few comments and then I am off to sleep. Today I finally completed one whole post and yeah I end my ramblings here so that you can proceed to the post.. :P I had heard a lot about things changing while moving from Campus To Corporate.. Everyone said the world out there is hard to survive in , competitive and you have to prove yourself in every field. I had my own perceptions about it.. Call it dreams or my expectations, I always wanted it to be a place with good people around and this place is really wonderful... After a few days in here, this is my take at the changes I found while transforming from

FaceBook IN, Orkut OUT...???

Image
I still remember the day when I was asked by my cousin "Are you on Orkut..??" and I was like, "Orkut..??? What is that..??" Yeah I dont mind to admit that I was at that time really dumb about these things.. specially to this whole world of Internet and social networking. That was about some four years back... I did not even have an email ID before that. The reason for it was mainly ignorance.. I did not know that outside my world there is so much more to explore and I never even felt the need for such a medium of communication.... Then after my junior college I began to know things about Internet and orkutting and mailing etc. etc.. It was an awesome period discovering new things and finding I was finding it amazing... The whole concept of social networking fascinated me. "Orkut" was the first social networking site I joined. I loved to create profile, fill in all the details and the DP... that is the best part about it.... I always upload cute pictures

The HANGOVER...!! (55 fiction)

Image
Mom called "Come for dinner..." But to me... Everything around seemed so dull and dizzy.... Even keeping my eyelids open was seeming to be a tough task... My head was just spinning like anything.... I drank water, gulped down an Aspirin and decided NEVER EVER TO........ .......READ THE WHOLE BOOK IN ONE SHOT....!! P.S. : I don't know if it was a good attempt at 55 fiction... Actually it's not a fiction. Experinced it last weekend when I went on to read a full small novel but at the end of the day...... Huh.....!! :P :P TC :)

"Bheegi si bhaagi si, Mere bazuo mein samaye....Soti si jaagi si.... " went my ringtone as it flashed some number on the screen.. I picked up the call closing the tab on my screen.... "Hello...!!??" I responded. "Hello..." "Ohh..Hiee..." "Hi." "How are you...??? Kab aaye..??" "Arey bas fine... Just came back yesterday.. Tum batao.. Kya haal hai..?? " "Nothing much yaar... Hain dil ko teri aarzoo, Par main tujhe naa paa sakoon, Hain dil ko teri justjoo, Par main tujhe naa paa sakoon..... Just sleeping to the tunes of this beautiful song since the past two nights.... Its such a wonderful song.. Just a soothing treat for the ears.... Liked a song so, so, so much after a long time.. While hearing it for the first time, it reminds me of the couple of beautiful songs from the movie "Anwar" . The Lyrics so different... with touch of Urdu words.. a Sufi type song... The word "Madno" itself means "Sajnaa" .. so different and nice naa..!! (I googled that one...) The way Kshitij says Madnoo..Mashko... Dilbaroo... Ohhh.. I just get lost in his words..!!! My favourite line "Main hoon shab tu subah........ Dono jud ke judaa" The song is really beautiful and yeah definitely a must listen if you like soft, romantic, Hindi music... Check it out here if you still hvn't come across this song....!!

A tale of.......

Once upon a time there was a kingdom..a land....a place where many people lived.. Have you heard of this place..?? It was a place where there was no one ruler or king. Everyone was their own king. People worked on their own in a way, everyone was each other's friend. They seemed to know every person next door. Even if they did not know each other, they were always ready to help people around. Everyone expressed themselves to the best here and shared thoughts, views ,opinions and incidents from their lives . Their friends were always there to support them or correct them, as situation demanded. The kingdom was huge and ever expanding... One day a girl who had been amazed by the people in this kingdom decided to visit it and when she was here....she was just fascinated by the place..Slowly, she started to be like the people round talking to everyone, sharing her thoughts and learning from her experiences.. It gave her joy and also helped her to identify herself even better... It beca

Fear it..?? Try it..!! :)

Superb, sparkling silver and stylish... Wowwww...They look so great...!! But would I be able to carry it off properly..?? This was the fear I always had when I looked at pencil heels...!! I found them really attractive and if someone would wear it , I would really admire her because it was like a fantasy for me to wear those type of sandals and walk properly in them.. (without falling..!!) I have always been wearing box or platform heeled sandals but wanted to try pencil heels since long. Whenever I thought of buying it , the next thought would be, but how would I walk in them and considering the number of times I have to get down or climb steps at home, bus, college etc , I always let go off the thought for the time being.. But last month when I went shopping with my aunt, she encouraged me to buy those sandals. Back home I was pretty excited about it. They were silver and had 2 inch pencil heels.I loved it. But my mom was very apprehensive about me wearing those sandals. At last aft

New Age A,B,C...........

Just check this- A is for apple, and B is for boat, that used to be right, but now it won't float! Age before beauty is what we once said, but let's be a bit more realistic instead. A's for arthritis; B's the bad back, C's the chest pains, perhaps car-di-ac??? D is for dental decay and decline, E is for eyesight, can't read that top line! F is for fissures and fluid retention, G is for gas which I'd rather not mention. H high blood pressure--I'd rather have it low; I for incisions with scars you can show. J is for joints, out of socket, won't mend, K is for knees that crack when they bend. L 's for leprosy, go have a skin check.... M is for memory, I forget what comes next. N is neuralgia, in nerves way down low; O is for osteo, bones that don't grow! P for prescriptions, I have quite a few, just give me a pill and I'll be good as new! Q is for queasy, is it fatal or flu? R is for reflux, one meal turns to two. S is for sleepless nigh

Ohhhhhhh....!!

I just now wrote a whole article and just when I was about to post it... There was a power cut and just because I had not hit the "Ctrl + S" even once while typing, the whole article vanished... (I was using notepad..!!) Now I will write it again some other day.....!! :( I don't know why but it always happens with me. Whenever I don't save there has to be a power cut. It would be as short as 5 mins and then the light would be back.... :( Not only this, whenever I am free and have time to watch TV, something would go wrong... There would no power or there would be no good programmes to watch. I just end up shuffling the channels..!! :( Similarly, whenever I want to chat or come online...It has happened so many times that my net does not get connected..If it gets connected, there is no one online.... Always happens with me..!! :( I don't know why but when I get late to reach at home or some other place, something would happen on the way and I would get more late.

And I Brought him Home.....!!

At last.. I found him...!!! I was searching for him since so so long.... I told mom also about it. Today was my last exam and I had told Mom that I would bring him home on the last day. She agreed to it. Actually she thought I was crazy at first but then she said it was fine. He is my Love. Of late I had started liking him more than even last year.. Even on my way to my exam centre I used to see him and then remember all those cute moments. Finally while coming home today..I brought him home. Mom found him good.. I always find him cute... so no need to say that. My brother also liked him but he said, "What yaar...!! You got the male zoo-zoo..?? I find the female ones cuter...!!!!" :P :P P.S. : I know this was really crazy but I am really loving the cute zoo-zoo soft toy I got today.. Due to exams I had been away for so long from my PC and blog and orkut and everything, that I wanted to write something and so the post..!!! :) P.P.S. : Next time I would definitely write some

No Emotions...Only Atyachaar..!!

Image
A few weeks back I heard a lot about the TV show "Emotional Atyachaar" saying that how it helped people to check on their partners....!! Feeling intrigued by what I had heard I asked my brother if he knew about the show. He said yeah and explained me about the concept.. I even watched the show and Ohh God.... The show is really a disaster of Emotions and relationships. For those who haven't come across this controversial show on Bindass TV, here's a gist for you about the so-called-reality-show. A person who is in a relationship undertakes a "Loyalty check" on their partner. Now, for this they approach the people on this show. For the Loyalty test, the Emotional Attyachar team sends undercover agents to the partner and these agents try to get into talking with the suspect for the test and all these things are recorded using hidden cameras and microphones. These agents come about as very friendly and try to get in touch through some or the other way. In most

"The first thing I do in the morning is check my cell...." Its a group I have joined on FB... But isn't this a fact for the most of us..?? Just talking about yesterday- I woke up in the morning. Checked my cell besides the pillow. Nothing new. Just rubbed my eyes and sent a message to a couple of friends- "See outside the window... Sun rising for U, Flowers Smiling for U, Birds Singing for U, 'Coz last nite I told them all to wish Good Morning to U...!! GM :) " I sent the message and after a while I got a reply- "Koi fayda nahi yeh sab karke. ;) Mujhe bahut neend aa rahi hai... Sone de mujhe. GNSD..." GNSD..This was at 9.00 in the morning.... Great friends..!! I replied- "Ok..sleep well... GN.. :) :P" Now this what I want to talk about today........ SMS.... I have developed this habit of hitting the reply button as soon as I read a message.... I don't know but how over the past few months I reply for most of the messages that I recei

Vacations in Summer...Arrrgghhh... :(

Image
Comes April and it is the time for exams and semesters to wind up. Time to dump your books and enjoy Vacations. ... But I really don't understand why should we be having vacations in Summer..??? I mean summers are so hot. I just don't feel like going out anywhere in this sunny weather..So what is the use of having vacation...??Even if I go out, the skin gets all sun burnt. It is not at all pleasant to go out in this weather...Leave alone vacationing. The only place apt for summer vacations would be some cool, cool hill-station.. Else, it can be a total disaster. Imagine if we had vacations in Winter. ..Wow... It would be so lovely... Firstly , I would love to sleep till late on cool winter mornings... Then wake up lazily, roam about, have fresh fruits for breakfast and then just go out and enjoy in the pleasant weather outside... Though winters in Mumbai are not so freezing cold, it is the best part of the year according to me... Not for studying or completing assignments.. Bu

Me- "A limit..??? Why..??" He- "That I don't know..." Me- "We talk Freedom of speech, freedom of Expression.. Fair advertisement... What's this..?? It is not done." "Ma'am..You can buy if you wish...." the shopkeeper said handing over the SMS Bonus card to me, which said UNLIMITED FREE SMS* *Limited to 5oo SMS per day. P.S. Not that 500 sms is less per day..But why cant they advertise it that way..?? Whats your view..?? Also Posted @ The Writers Lounge

Don't Stress my Pateince....

Someone has said, “Patience is a virtue. Possess it if you can. Seldom found in Woman, Never found in Man” Do you agree to it?? Talking about myself, I think I am patient a lot. I am never in a haste to get something or complete my task. I can wait for a reasonable amount of time. Also I try to be patient and calm when someone around me is angry. So,in this way, I am patient. But..But...But...there are times when I turn impatient too.. When I know something half through, I have to know it completely then and there. There are sometimes when I want to know the things or tell something and I get impatient.. Happening a lot with me lately.... Talking about Men....Ahem Ahem..... Well... Not about all.... Just want to talk about one of my friends who is very, very, very patient...(Pun intended...!!!) Some days ago, while I was sitting with my friends in the canteen, discussing over something, my Friend Bharat said "You all are stressing my patience.." I thought I heard something ou

That night, she was very very tired but when she lied down on bed, she just could not sleep.. All the scenes from the day flashed by her eyes... One day.. And so many things in her life had changed... She recollected a dialogue fro ma movie "Life mein bahut saari cheezein pehli baar hoti hai..." For the first time... She had lied at home while going out... For the first time... She got the biggest surprise when she knew that he had got a new bike... For the first time... She sat on the bike with fear but was confident that he would take care of her.. For the first time... She roamed around places, where though she had been earlier, seemed entirely different and new that day... For the first time... She felt like talking and talking as someone was listening to her with a smile.. For the first time... She walked barefoot on the rocks as the water kissed her feet... For the first time... When she was about to lose her balance, someone was there to hold her hand... For the first

In case you dint notice, my classmates made some customisations for the song to suit to our commerce background..!! That was our last day at college officially. We had a farewell party which was really wonderful. Had awesome performances, award distribution and above it, DJ too.. A memorable evening with mixed feelings...!! This phase of my life- "college" is also getting over now... Feels kind of nostalgic... 5 years spent in the same place... Whe

The Right Answers are...

So, last time I had put forward a few questions.. Here is the List . Time for the answers now... 1. The one sport in which neither the spectators nor the participants  know the score or the leader until the contest ends: Boxing.  2. North American landmark constantly moving backward:   Niagara Falls.   (The rim is worn down about two and a half feet each year because of the millions of gallons of water that rush over it every minute.)  3. Only two vegetables that can live to produce on their own for several growing seasons: Asparagus and rhubarb.  4. The fruit with its seeds on the outside: Strawberry.  5. How did the pear get inside the brandy bottle?  It grew inside the bottle.    The bottles are placed over pear buds when they are small, and are wired in place on the tree.  The bottle is left in place for the entire growing season. When the pears are ripe, they are snipped off at the stems.  6. Three English words beginning with dw: Dwarf, dwell and dwindle...

Of Forks & Spoons..!!

Image
Hmmm.. So as my title says..... My topic for the day is about FORKS & SPOONS...!!! Now , they don't need an introduction as they are very common to us in our everyday life, so much so that you must be even wondering what I have to write about them.....  Well many things... Just read on.......... Actually whenever I go to eat out, I am very very nervous about eating with a fork and spoon... I feel some things are such that you cant manage to eat them with a spoons and forks..... At least I can't..!!  Lets say... Pav-bhaji. . Now can you eat that without using your fingers..?? Even if you eat... Can you really enjoy the whole taste of it..?? It happened once when I went out with a couple of friends & we ordered Pav-Bhaji ... Now this one friend of mine, she was so so particular that she cut the pav properly with her fork n spoon...picked up that piece with the fork, dipped it in bhaji and then ate it... Ohh Gosh..how can you eat it that way.. I did not
